Open Letter to Gator Bait Magazine Subscribers Announcing New Format

Dear Gator Bait Subscribers,

Over the last 30 years, Florida athletics has undergone some significant changes. In 1980, the football team was coming off a winless season and has since gone on to claim three national championships and produce two Heisman Trophy winners. Similarly, the basketball team was an SEC doormat back then and today two NCAA Tournament championship banners adorn the O'Connell Center.

Likewise, Gator Bait magazine, which has been there for our loyal subscribers over those same 31 years, has undergone its own dramatic changes. From an original black and white product, we now have Gator Bait magazine with digital editions and GatorBait.net on the web. But that is nothing compared to what is in store.

Starting in August, we will offer our readers a better product, delivered in a more efficient manner and, best of all, more frequently with more Florida athletics coverage than ever before, exclusively for our subscribers!

Changes to Gator Bait magazine

We will continue to publish and mail a printed magazine, but with substantial changes. The new Gator Bait magazine, which debuts in August, will convert to a brilliant full-color, glossy magazine very similar in makeup to Sports Illustrated ®. The glossy Gator Bait magazine will be published 12 times a year and will include information that is far less time sensitive, allowing us to focus more on in-depth features, analysis and commentary. By doing this, we can provide you with a magazine that is not out of date when it arrives in your mailbox.

Introducing Gator Bait Express

In addition to the glossy magazine, beginning August 3, 2011 we will also provide you with a new full-color, reader-friendly digital magazine available exclusively to our subscribers over the Internet. During football season, Gator Bait Express will preview Florida's next game with stats, analysis and the all-important coach's comments from the early week press conference. Gator Bait Express will continue throughout the year with the latest updates on basketball, spring football and recruiting. Gator Bait subscribers will be notified via email when the latest Gator Bait Express is ready. So don't forget to provide us with your email address! You can register for Gator Bait Express at: Register for e-Edition/Express.

Our improvements to the Gator Bait print magazine and our new digital magazine provide the best of both worlds. Gator Bait subscribers get a vastly improved glossy print magazine and an up-to-the-minute digital magazine for more Florida sports coverage than ever before ... and all for the same low price of $49.95.
